Support

"Multiple lives are touched and branch out with the one starting connection."Jennifer Payne, Volunteer

Adult education is in critical need for services. A decline in federal and state funding in the past 10 years has resulted in programs serving only a fraction of the adults in need in the state of Texas. At the present levels of public funding, less than 10 percent of adults in need are receiving services.

Your support helps ETLC provide opportunities for adults in Gregg County to develop the basic literacy skills necessary to attain self-sufficiency and to function successfully in our community.

Fundraisers

Bee for Literacy

The ETLC’s annual fundraiser, the BEE for Literacy!, is held on the second Wednesday of June each year. Three person teams from the area businesses and civic groups compete against each other to raise funds to support the work of the Council. Tickets are sold at the Council Office, Barron’s, and Texas Bank and Trust branches in Longview.

Scrabble with Friends

Grab some friends and join us for a light supper and fun Scrabble games. You’ll compete as a team (8 per team) against other teams to amass the most word points in three short rounds. Play to win or just for the fun of it.

Anyone can play, and all levels of players are welcome.
